I’m Rehmat Bibi, XX. The last year has been the worst of my life. I lost my young son a year ago in a car accident and then my husband died of a heart attack. I wish I had died before them. The pain is too much to bear. I lived alone most of the last year since my married children live in their own homes. My only surviving son is a heroin addict and barely comes home. I’ve given up on him. Last month one of my married daughters was ‘sent back’ home. I like having their company around, but if she gets divorced I don’t know how we will manage our expenses. I want to spend the little money I have on fixing our leaking roof, which looks like it will collapse after any storm. Sometimes I wish it would.
